Some shots taken in collaboration with our great friends at Lomography Australia who gave me a fantastic Sprocket Rocket camera to play with, I hope you like the results.

Love At First Sight; Sydney

Originally from the UK, Dean has been in Australia for a year, and since moving here he has found love!

While out in a Sydney bar one evening a young lady caught his eye.  He mustered the courage to approach her and then muttered a sentence that would change his life.  'Hi, I couldn't help but notice you across the bar.  Can I ask you something...where did you get those sneakers?'.

Yes, Dean fell in love with a girl's sneakers, and the next day went out and bought a pair for himself.

Having left most of his beloved sneakers at home in the UK the kicks have pride of place in his wardrobe and due to their great neutral colourway work well with Dean's contemporary urban look.

Here's another batch of candid reportage shots taken with the Sprocket Rocket camera - the latest and greatest creation from our good friends at Lomography.

All The Way To Remo; Sydney

Being back in Sydney means sun, surf and colour, and one man responsible for contributing to the cities kaleidoscopic loveliness is the colourful Remo.
A multi-talented Director and Artist, I spotted Remo as he sprayed on Bondi Beach's infamous street art wall.  The work is designed to promote the Femme Fatale lead from his new project.  Named 'Scar' this red-headed starlet is a character to look out for.
Remo picked up his kicks in Tokyo a few months ago, a city that he loves, and he tells me has 4-5 new Vans releases each WEEK; from snakeskin designs, to bizarre colourways, such is the demand for sneakers in Japan that anything goes.  Note to self - must get to Japan soon!

Kicking A Gola; Sydney

The retro UK shoe brand Gola is renowned for it's classic kicks and they've been making their trademark simple, clean, and retro sneakers for decades.
This owner picked up his Gola shoes in an impulsive shopping move while overseas - he needed some kicks, bought these, and ditched his existing pair all in one swift move.
Now some 2 years later, life is anything but a holiday as he works in high end furniture retail so needs to dress smartly during the week.  But rest assured, the Golas are always there at the weekends.
Ironically I caught him in the middle of Sydney one Saturday on his way to the stores for some sneaker shopping, so by the time you read this these Golas might have been replaced in another impulsive shopping move.

Ollie Foot; Sydney

This mad skater is a big Vans fan and wears their classic kicks both for everyday use, and for skating.

He bought these Vans Old Skool kicks a couple of years ago, but as you can see his left shoe has been beaten into submission as a result of this being his overactive Ollie foot.  

I have found other skaters on here who have battered their shoes through skating (see here and here) and like them, this sneaker lover can't bear to throw out his beloved kicks which he keeps for weekend wear and as you can see, despite their battered appearance they're integral to his skate influenced look.

Walk of Art; Sydney

Originally from Munich, I spotted this sneaker lover as he took part in Sydney's annual Bondi Sculpture walk.  A self-confessed creature of habit he brought only 1 pair of sneakers with him when he came to Australia, and loves his bright yellow Energie hi top sneakers so much that he has been hunting down another pair, but could only find another pair on the other side of the world!
He has ordered a new pair from Amazon UK that are due to arrive any day now and I hope they add as much colour to his look as these near-neon yellow kicks.

Enzo's éS; Sydney

A keen skater Enzo, has just made the leap (perhaps in the form of a rad ollie) from Nike's specialist skating SP shoes to kicks from the niche US Skating brand éS.
He has become an instant convert to the brands classic kicks and will be adding more éS shoes to his collection in the future.
I was lucky enough to have great light for these shots, and thought I would try something a bit different with the above B&W shot - thoughts please?????

Luca; Sydney

Luca is a friend of my son's, and one smartly dressed toddler!
On a recent trip to visit family in Berlin he was faced with a pile of presents from his Auntie who had purchased all manner of cool kicks for her nephew.  Luca picked this great pair of Baby Adidas Rekord sneakers and effortlessly rocks their retro look with great style.
