Athletic Eastern Suburbs; Sydney

If you remember my 'Uno Duo Tres-ners; London' post, you will recall that I've already found some eye catching Italian tourists on my travels.   However, this week in Bondi, Sydney I found the owner of these Air Max Athletic West shoes, another Italian tourist on holiday from Rome.   Purchased in Italy, his Nike Air Max Skyline's - West Pack have a great, and hard to find colouring, and are from the Athletic West sub-brand (sometimes also called AW77).  Nike set up Athletic West in 1977 as a safe house for US athletes training for the 1978 Olympics, but now, in honour of Nike's desire to work with athletes of all nationalities the name of the initiative has changed to 'Nike International'.  However, the company still release shoes and apparel in the AW77 range in memory of the companies near-40 year history, within which you can often find some interesting styles/colorings.
