Feeling Super; Sydney

Being in love can be just Super, and these guys wanted to show the world just how doubly Super they were feeling with their mutual love for each other, and for Adidas.

Hey DJ; Sydney

You can't have a good Hip Hop festival without good music, and in DJs Naiki and Nao from Japan, the Sydney Platform Festival is guaranteed some banging beats.
Both are sneaker lovers and Naiki was a collector who only recently sold off his collection of 300 pairs of shoes in Tokyo.  He opted to keep these classic Adidas, while Nao was sporting a brand I haven't seen before 'Madfoot', a great Japanese brand that prides itself it's 'Universality' as they strive to make kicks that stand up anywhere in the world.  Well Madfoot fans, I can vouch that they certainly rocked my world when I saw them in Sydney!

B-Boys; Sydney

These B-Boys are Krump-mad students of Darrio, who I featured last week (see this post).
The guys are part of a crew that love dancing, and love kicks, and like their locking and popping peers they choose their footwear with 2 key areas - style, and comfort.
Vans and Nike are their brands of choice as you can see from these shots of the boys showing off their shoes and their moves.

Therapy (Retail and Medical); Sydney

These sneaker lovers both share a passion for therapy as they both work as Physical Therapists, and also love to undertake some retail therapy for kicks.
After living in UK for a few years sneaker shopping became a common occurrence for them, due to the cheap cost and plentiful supply of shoes in stores all through the city and these kicks were both picked up in London.

Get Your Paws Off The Dancefloor; Sydney

Possibly the quirkiest shot I took at this weekend's Platform Hip Hop Festival; while all the breakers, lockers & poppers and B-Boys (and girls) were practicing their dance steps inside, this Big Dog was kept outside.

There Are 2 Eyes in Imogen; Sydney

Imogen is a dancer and obsessive sneaker lover who prides herself on keeping the most pristine sneakers in Sydney.  Each pair in her varied collection of hi's, lo's and mid's are scrubbed, cleaned and freshened up with new laces to keep each shoe in tip top condition.
She definitely has an edgy look which is accentuated with her use of sneakers in her very urban style, and is topped off with her unique, and captivating eyes which are each a different colour.

My New Shoes; Sydney

If, like this guy, you're planning to go to the Sydney Platform Hip Hop Festival, then be prepared.
He wasn't satisfied by merely arriving with some sharp sneakers on his feet as he also packed a pair of spare shoes, and what could be more eye-catching than these brand new adidas Originals Jeremy Scotts Wings shoes that certainly impressed his mates.

From Head To Toe; Sydney

The whole purpose of I Dig Your Sole Man, was to find interesting people with interesting looks, that use sneakers as part of their style.
I don't think I need to say too much about these guys who are obviously sneaker lovers, and obviously have a unique look going on.
Both were great guys and both were very passionate about their shoes as fans, wearers and collectors.  They also like hats too.

Warming Up; Sydney

Some of my favourite shots from this weekend's Platform Hip Hop Festival came from candid shooting of individuals and crews warming up to compete in the dance competitions.  I always like to try and shoot events from a different perspective, and looking at the dedication, commitment, energy and hope in the dancers as they prepared to battle allowed me to get some interesting shots.  I hope you agree.
