Driving home from work late one night, I was mesmerised by the bright lights of the Aspley Ten Pin Bowling Centre in Brisbane. Admittedly I'm not a huge bowling fan (although I do enjoy a game on the Wii), but as shoes play a big part in the sport I thought I would pop in to check it out.
I was welcomed with open arms, and quickly developed a soft spot for the centre as inside and out it fuses old retro styling with modern bowling technology.
The lanes were in demand from a midweek bowling league meet, and I was able to fire off the shots above.
I was lucky enough to be given a tour around the centre by Mark a lane technician who gave me some interesting facts; most bowling lanes are not made from wood, but are in fact synthetic, and each ten pin bowling machine that removes and replaces the pins has 401 sensors!
