Red Bull Curates; The Canvas Cooler Project

Last night gave Sydney the chance to check out the coolest range of blank canvases ever seen, as
Red Bull Curates gave Australia's top Lowbrow artists the chance to represent Sydney's top pubs and bars in their Cooler Canvas Project.
The project has already travelled to London and San Francisco and last night saw Sydney's turn, with coolers given to leading artists, from which 11 designs were created to celebrate some of the cities top waterholes, which included 3 of my faves; Upstairs Beresford, El Loco and Cargo Lounge.
It was a fun night, and part of a fun campaign, check it out here.

Setting London Ablaze

Joseph has a 60-pair strong sneaker collection that includes 4 pairs of a silhouette that did big things in the UK in 2011, the Nike Blazer.
It's interesting how quickly styles and trends can begin in the UK, once something catches on it blows up quickly, and the Blazer is a great example of something that really got people excited.  The shoe's simple design saw it appeal to a wide range of people due to it's ability to work with so many looks.
This pair had been in hibernation in Joseph's collection until the day we met, and I'm glad he decided to break them out as the black leather upper highlighted with Varsity Yellow and Del Sol Red is one of the nicest colourways I've seen in the shoe.

Jake Skates Ronan; London

In the short time I spent meeting Jake I learnt 2 key things about him; a) He loves adidas, and b) he loves skating.
In the 7 years he has been skating he has developed an appreciation and love for what adidas have done for the sport.  They've great team riders, make great product, and have strong advertising, all of which have been key elements in making Jake an adi-addict.
These True Blue Ronans are the latest shoe that has validated Jake's love for the brand.  They're stylish, comfortable and look great (I've always loved Gazelle's in the same colourway), and with only 1000 pairs released around the world in this colour Jake got his hands on a great reward for such brand loyalty.

Lee Loves Tobacco; London

There is something very English about this shot.
Copy of the FT - check.  Red phonebox in the background - check.  Layered clothing featuring chunky-knit cardigan - check.  Retro adidas Originals kicks - CHECK!
Lee prides himself on being an innovator, and he loves to be the first with things, so he was delighted to be at the front of the queue in getting a pair of adidas Originals Tobacco shoes when they hit the brand's flagship Covent Garden store.
They're a lovely shoe - with a nice balanced colourway in a clean, easy to wear style and I can see why Lee loves the fact that he is always one step ahead of the crowd in this classy kicks.

Levis Go WaterLess Party; Sydney

Last night saw Sydney's cool crowd made a big splash at the Levis Go WaterLess Party.
The brand are synonymous with classic denim, and in addition to recently launching some interesting new cuts, this event wasn't about product, but moreso about the way we treat the product.
We all like to give more thought to how our lives impact on the environment, and the event was designed to raise awareness of how much water we use; did you know each time you wash your jeans it uses 60 litres of water!
The event was celebrated with a rather unique sight, some amazing male bath burlesque.  I have to admit it's not something I've seen before but it was an amazing spectacle as you can see from the pics above, and it offers some inspiration on how you can introduce a whole new regime to the way you wash your jeans!

New Era; London

In my world, style observations may start at the feet but that doesn’t mean to say I don’t also look up, and when topping off your look not many brands have the impact of legendary cap makers New Era.
New Era was started by German immigrant Ehrhardt Koch in the 1920’s in Buffalo, New York, and from humble beginnings the brand now not only dominates US sport, but also the urban style set too.
The brand’s iconic headwear is a easily identifiable anywhere in the world, and in their London flagship store anyone can pick up a true taste of US street style. From a wide range of hats in any colour and size you can think of, to apparel, and some great collab related products (including a great New Era watch made by our good friends at G Shock) you can ensure that this great brand’s era lives on.
