As many of you will know, I'm a firm believer that great denim is the perfect companion to great kicks, and I was delighted to meet Matt, a man who is going to great lengths to not only share this belief, but also to wear it and live it.
Matt is the Denim Atelier at the fantastic store Glue, and when I was invited to check out the store's new denim collection Matt was able to give me the lowdown on his participation in the fantastic 'Jeans for Genes' charity, an initiative that raises funds for medical research for children.
To help raise money for this great cause Matt is wearing the same pair of jeans for 300 days (ending on August 2nd which is Jeans for Genes day), a task he is 280+ days into, and rather than feeling restricted, the experience is something he is embracing as he loves the idea of forming a canvas out of raw denim, and shaping his unique story into his Denham 14oz Japanese Virgin Selvedge jeans.
While Matt has spent the past 3 years immersed in the world of denim he admits that this 365 day denim experience is helping re-assess his focus on footwear too, as each day requires him to do something to spice up his look and his choices are getting more colourful and adventurous as a result of the experiment and is appreciating all his shoes more, especially these 2012 Puma Rudolf Dassler Ruckholz boots.
