The Vans Authentics in the above shots are only 1 week old, and he has offset their simple monochrome design with a colourful paisley shirt. It's a simple, effortless look that has more thought behind it than you might first think.

Great Dane; Sydney
Myren is from Copenhagen and is currently touring around Australia with his punk rock band De Høje Hæle (which translates to The High Heels).
He has been skating for 14 years, and has seen skate fashion evolve considerably during this time. Myren is constantly looking for skate fashion that can crossover into everyday urban style and he loves the work of the Adidas Skateboard range.
He is currently rocking (pun intended) these Adidas Skateboard Campus, an adapted version of the classic Adidas court shoe, reworked to help cope with the demands of skating.
Myren feels the kicks represent a strong skateboard shoe with a fantastic retro design that works equally well for jumping on his deck, or putting on his bass and rocking out with his band.

Devout Sneakerheads; Sydney
Piers and Carla run Devout, a Sydney based skateboard brand. They love skating, and are also devout sneakerheads too.
Piers only wears Vans shoes, and picked up these Limited Edition Mid Skool 77 Tony Alva shoes at a sneaker sale. With a vast array of Vans kicks shoes in his prized collection all his shoes get rotated, and he never wears the same pair 2 days in a row. He also only wears Vans socks too!
As for Carla she loves Etnies and Zoo York kicks, and especially liked the feminine quality of these Zoo York Pike shoes which combine lace with skulls for a delicate/gothic look.
Piers and Carla are doing great things for the world of skating so please check out their site, and their Facebook page.

Well Worn Volleys
For those of you who follow the Aussie sneaker scene, you will be familiar with a shoe that is 90 years young, and like a fine wine is getting better with age. As we've shown on the site before, The Dunlop Volley is a shoe loved by sneaker lovers everywhere in an array of classic pre-existing styles.
Volley are planning to write a new page in the shoe's iconic history by releasing 3 new styles and to celebrate these new additions to the Volley family a search is underway across Australia to find the most well worn, and well loved Volley's in the country, so now it's your chance to tell the story behind you and your shoes. Yes, you can now dig your own soles, and put your pics and stories of you and your Volleys up on Facebook from March 1, with the top 500 entrants each receiving a pair of the new Volley Internationals.
Good luck, and maybe you can write your own page in this classic shoe's ongoing history that begun back in 1921 and looks set to go on for another 90 years at least.
Amour; Sydney
This Parisian sneaker has a lot of love to give.
He loves skating and he loves Australia so is spending a few weeks skating across the country with a few mates.
Despite being torn, battered and covered in holes, he loves his one month old Vans which he feels work well with his 'erratic chic' look (which he also loves).
And finally he loves tattoos, he loves his 'Love' tattoo (the heart on his hand), and he also loves his newest piece, a drawing of the most crazy girl he could ever imagine. So, it seems like he also loves green, semi-clad Alien chicks. That is a LOT of love!

Salehe Black; New York
As us sneaker lovers of the world unite, can I please draw your attention to the world of Salehe, an amazing New York artist and photographer who I've recently hooked up with.
You can check out his fantastic site here, and I hope that we can both bring you the best of each other's work in the future.
Enjoy Salehe's work, and we'll have more from the Bondi Bowl-a-rama event tomorrow.
Cheers

Reminders; Sydney
Tania loves street style and takes great pride in her feminine, yet edgy and punk influenced look which literally from head to toe gives a few reminders about Tania's past.
Firstly, she is a massive sneakers fan with a specific love of Vans, and is always seen in her trademark shoe of an all-black pair of Authentics, and this specific pair were given to her last year by her ex.
The second reminder of Tania's past can be seen in her newest tattoo, as after recently losing her cat she has immortalised 'Presh' in the form of a cat on a ladies head.

Sydney Candids 25
It's apt that this pic shows someone walking off into the distance, as I'd like to use this post to say a big thanks to Adam who is leaving Hype DC today. From a very early stage Adam gave my work a great support for which I'm extremely grateful and I wish him all the best for the future - cheers man.
Have a good weekend.

104 Miles; Sydney
This sneaker lover chooses his kicks for 2 purposes - everyday wear, and running marathons, so finding a shoe to cover all bases has been tough, but in the 2009 Asics Noosa shoe he has found a kick that has injected some colour into his life by suiting all of his needs.
Originally from Sweden, Matt fell in love with these shoes in a big way, and likes them so much that he bought 10 pairs in 1 go! He has since run the Berlin marathon twice, the Sydney marathon and the New York Marathon (which by my reckoning makes 104 miles) all in a pair of these eye-catching shoes which he also wears for everyday use as well.

Monochrome Skater
When it was launched in 1969 the Adidas Superstar was merely designed to be a basketball shoe. Now, some 42 years later the Superstar is one of Adidas' most iconic shoes appealing to everyone from rappers to sports stars to millions of everyday people around the world, including skaters.
I took this shot one sunny afternoon and it seemed fitting to work the image in B&W to showcase this timeless shoe.

Import/Export; Sydney
Originally from China, I spotted this sneaker lover on Pitt St in Sydney. As shoppers rushed around her to make the most of the new Westfield shopping centre, she was in no rush to hit the stores and replace an item that has been a mainstay in her wardrobe for 2 years.
She picked up these trusty Nikes in China, and as you can see, during that time they've been well worn and well loved, and are her shoes of choice for the weekend due to their great retro look and well worn comfort.
