Colour, style and panache; the ladies have yet again rocked it this year with an International showcase of urban style at it’s chic-ist!

I think the thing I’ve learnt most from these pics is that it’s not so much what you wear, but how you wear it that counts, with these pics showcasing my fave finds from '11.

Thanks to each and every who posed for and followed the site this year – I hope things get even bigger and better in 2012!

Well the boys have been stepping out in style in 2011, and everyone from the city chic-ers to the casuals, the b-boys to the BMXers, and the skaters to the sneakerheads have been making the streets look better than ever around the world this year.

Here are my fave finds from the male contingent over the past 12 months, it’s the ladies turn tomorrow!

Best of '11; Locations

Melbourne; One of my favourite cities in the world, I love Melbourne's easy going vibe, and eclectic approach to style.  Every twist and turn offers something fresh and new and I happy to be able to bring you more from this great city in early 2012.

Bondi Skate Park; Not just because of it's close proximity to my house, but also due to the diverse and action packed style finds that are always ever present at this skating site.  The skating world has embraced my work in a big way, and I look forward to more skate related work in the new year.

Singapore; This unique country has a unique tone and feel, as it effortlessly combines old colonial influences with fresh and innovative contemporary design.  Visiting Singapore is always an effortless and inspiring experience, something I hope to experience more of in 2012.

Aspley Bowling Club: This Brisbane bowling club opened their doors to the magnificence of their beautiful retro shrine to the 10 pins.  I loved the shots (see the post here) and it allowed me to see how footwear isn't just a style choice but also something people rely on for all manner of activities - something I will definitely explore more of in 2012.

Best of '11; Action

This year saw IDYSM expand to show that street photography isn't just about stopping people in the street and shooting a couple of portraits, but sometimes the best shots come from everyday action.
Expect more work in 2012 focusing on skating, performing, sport and everyday street action.

Early Xmas Present; Sydney

Well it's that time of year again folks - Happy Holidays!

Like most of you I will be taking a well earned break, so up until the New Year you can enjoy some of my fave content of the year - check it out as you may have missed some fun and exciting content from the past 12 months!

While you all rest up and get ready for 2012 I will be getting to grips with the newest bit of kit in the IDYSM arsenal, a Canon S95.  This nifty point and shoot will be on me at all times, easy to whip out when I don't have my DSLR with me.

Before I sign off in person for the year a big thanks for following the site - it's great to see more and more people following my work so thank you.  2012 is already looking to be a great year with International travel to more style capitals and some great collabs lined up - I can't wait!

Notorius & Co; Sydney

 

Meet Dan - he's the owner of a new store in Sydney that is getting some great props and it's easy to see why!  

Notorious & Co is a boutique with a passion for pure street style.  Echo'ing a New York 80's Hip Hop vibe the store has a flare for timeless urban clothing, shoes and accessories and in a short space of time has become a destination for great product.

Dan is originally from Amsterdam and brings to Sydney a refreshing approach to street style that is clean, simple and effective with Dan being equally happy to stock big brand names (superb styles from Reebok and NB in store, and he's proudly about to start stocking Nike Tier 1 product), up and comers including fantastic denim brand Indigofera and wares from local brands including Sydney brand Ones Clothing and artist Dallas Clark (hand spray painted graff work that is all available to buy!).

Dan's a great guy, who is passionate about what he does, and if you're in town and after something hot to spice up your wardrobe check him out!
