Ali; Sydney

Having the vision, commitment and skill to not only start an online publication, but to make it great is no easy feat, so I have very quickly become a huge fan of Ali and her great Sydney project The Bonafide Bedfellows.

The site offers an insight into what is rocking Ali's world, and through the project she displays a great sense of taste and style, as well as an engaging writing style as she shares what she is finding and listening to, articles about interesting people she's meeting, things she's seeing, and what people are wearing.
I thought it would be great to turn the tables and ask Ali to pose for me, and I feel her look says a lot about her, quite understated but with plenty of character, as shown in her great Spring Court M2 Glove Leopards.
Thanks to Ali for posing - and I hope we'll get to work together in the future!

Say Hello To...Portobello PR

Charlie's company Portobello PR have quickly made a name for representing some great brands including Neuw and G-Shock, which as many of you will know are brands that I love!

You will have seen plenty of content pop up on here about Neuw (see here, here and here), and as G-Shock's Sydney correspondent you can see some of my work on the G-Street site here too.

It doesn't take long to realise why such great brands are keen to work with Charlie as she's a lovely person, with a great vision, and and great sense of style too, so it's great to be able to 'Say Hello To' Portobello PR in the latest in my series, after recently shooting these shots at Charlie's new office in Sydney.  

A big thanks to Charlie and Lisa for posing and showing off their great kicks, and some off some serious wedge action!

Nick; Sydney

A skater and BMX fan through and through, Nick had to go to the other side of the world to pick these RAD shoes up.

Purchased in London, the shoes are in fact part of the RAD x Vans era pack, a drop that had fans of the cult BMX movie RAD frothing at the mouth with their play on the classic Era silhouette that enforces the RAD logo with detailing around the midsole.

As you can they see finish off Nick's interesting look very well, which on the surface looks simple enough but when you look closer seems to fuse elements of Hunter S Thompson with Bam Margera.

Say Goodbye To...Anik; Sydney

Say hello to Anik and her beloved All Stars.  Now say goodbye...

As a twist on my new 'Say Hello To' series with this article I want to say goodbye to a friend, who this week leaves Sydney.

I met Anik through her work in PR representing a number of brands and we became friends sharing an interest in photography, fashion and alcohol, but she's now heading home to France to start a new chapter in her life which she'll be doing in the beloved, yet stinky shoes seen above.

I know she'll achieve great things wherever she goes so Bon Voyage A, stay in touch, and apologies for covering you and your boss in Mexican Food.

Cameron; Sydney

There are a few things I use in life as a barometer on whether I will get along with people or not.  If for example you like sneakers, and football, you've got my interest.  However, if like Cameron you can build on this and add that you're a Liverpool supporter and you also love New Balance then we are practically on the way to being friends for life!

After spending a few years living in Europe, Cameron returned to Sydney recently.  He was away for 4 years and spent time in France and England, and returned home noticing that a sneaker scene had grown from what he remembered in Sydney before. 

He needed to add some shoes to his wardrobe so went out and snapped up these NB 574's, a classic shoe that you will often find me wearing, and regardless of what happens to the sneaker scene in the next 4 years you can guarantee that the 574 will still be of interest to me, and many other sneaker lovers out there too.

RMK Party; Sydney

 

 

Last night saw Sydney's China Heights Gallery open it's doors to celebrate the launch of the Premium Australian Women's Fashion footwear label RMK's new campaign with model Anja Konstantinova.
Showcasing new lookbook images of Anja shot by Darren McDonald in New York promoting new season's product, the event saw a great crowd gathering for a fun night.

It's not gone un-noticed by me that a number of ladies out there are looking at add some new colour and style to their summer footwear collection, so it could be worth walking in Anja's footsteps and checking out RMK!

Say Hello To...Pedestrian.TV (Pt 2)

Time for another in my series of 'Say Hello To', as we return to Pedestrian.tv HQ to check out some more of the peeps behind the great site.

It's no surprise that the team behind the site comprises of an eclectic mix of people, each with a unique look and a big thanks to everyone for taking the time to show me around and pose for a couple of snaps while showcasing their look, and the story behind it/their footwear.

I love a good collab, and I go nuts for a great one, so I'm pretty excited right now about the ASOS Black x Puma range that's about to drop some of most exciting collab product I've seen in a LONG time.

Comprising of quality apparel and accessories, the range offers premium menswear product that would benefit any wardrobe, and as you can see from the lookbook images above the product is HOT!

OK, I have a confession to make; I am officially obsessed with Instagram!  There, thats apparently the first and most important step.

Superstar; Sydney

To many of us, kicks don't come much more iconic than the adidas Superstar.  For Asanin (in the above pics), the shoe is an iconic reminder of how he has embraced a whole new fashion culture since moving to Sydney from North Thailand.
He finds the quality of product a lot better in Australia, and with a new approach to style influenced by his new surroundings he has overhauled his wardrobe and given the almighty Superstar the job of carrying his new look.

Oakley 'Garage Rocks' Party; Sydney

 

A big thanks to Oakley and the Arc Factory for the invite to last night's great Garage Rocks party in Sydney.
With the summer knocking on the door finding that perfect pair of sunnies will be a dilemma we all face, and the good folks at Oakley have gone and made it even trickier by putting out so many great styles that choosing only 1 is surely impossible?
The rocking night saw an eclectic range of people and styles get together to celebrate the brand, with Benji Madden the guest of honour.
Unfortunately I wasn't able to stick around for long unfortunately (if I had, I fear I could have done some serious damage with the amazing tequila cocktails on offer), but I was there long enough to snap a few shots of the night, the crowd, fantastic Sydney rock band the Delta Riggs in action, and some exclusive shots of the special guest of honour Benji Madden himself.

Say Hello To...Pedestrian.TV (Pt 1)

I'm a big fan of the fantastic work at Pedestrian.tv, so am delighted to showcase the peeps behind the scenes in the latest of my 'Say Hello To' series.

Everyone on the team has a unique look, with a unique story to tell and it was great to get my foot in the door and meet the team behind the site.  For the past 2 years they have kindly had me as a finalist for the Blogger for the Year awards, so I suspected their footwear may have interesting stories to tell, and I didn't come away disappointed.
