The meeting of Dee and Zac in Sydney was like confronting a double headed Hypebeast-wannabe whirlwind in every sense.
From China, they were in Sydney for 24 hours en route to New Zealand, but in that short space of time they left an indelible impression with their own trademark playful style.
Due to the language barrier all communication was undertaken through Zac (on the right), who by his own admission is the more conservative of the couple, with his partner Dee having a lot to learn about growing up. Initially I thought that this was just an observation about his behaviour as he ran off to play on a swing, but no, he was talking about his style too.
To Zac, Dee's purple hair, array of tats, bold and obvious taste in labels (the A.P.C. tee) and even taste in shoes all show a cry for attention, as his whole look is about standing out, which Zac felt his 2013 'Tie Dye' Vans x Kenzo 'Day Cloud' Classic Slip-Ons helped to punctuate.
As for Zac, he wasn't running off to play on any playground equipment so installed himself as the 'grown up' one, but to me he also had a playful side. Maybe not as out and out as his partner's but I got the feeling he let this side of his character with his kicks, as his Del Toro Alto Chukka's fuse a slick, mature look with a playful edge.
