Serving up colour co-ordination; Sydney

My local patisserie in Bondi seems to have the most colour co-ordinated waiter in the world. Matching his yellow and black uniform are his eye-catching Nike Dunk High Premiums in Black and the appropriately named 'Volt Yellow'. Admittedly these loud shoes from the East vs. West Rivals Pack series are something of an acquired taste, but they make an interesting spectacle for patrons of the Bondi Gelato Bar Hungarian Patisserie.

Hi's and Lows; Sydney

After finding the classic women's Nike Dunk Hi's earlier in the day, it was a double whammy when I also spotted an interesting subject with some men's Dunk Lows in Bondi. An unassuming tourist in town to spend New Years in Sydney, the owner has an effortless style that started and finished with his shoes. The shoes in question were picked up from a large Taiwan shoe store a few years ago and aren't particularly rare or exclusive, but suit his style perfectly.

Easy Tiger; Sydney

Onitsuka Tiger's are great to consider for the sometimes difficult to achieve ensemble of 'smart casual', and I spotted this pair of shoes as their owner waited for his bus at Bondi Junction in Sydney. The Mexico 66 is probably the most popular style of the Onitsuka Tiger shoes, and this navy blue/orange colour scheme which was only released in the non-laced velcro shoe was very popular in Australia in 2009.

Summer Loving; Sydney

After the cold of London it's back to Sydney for some summer sunshine. Amidst the haze of jetlag I ventured into town today searching for interesting subjects, and feared that Sydney-ites would all be wearing Havianas as they prepared for the beach, so
I was pleasantly surprised to find a few interesting subjects today.
Spotted at a train station, the first shoes that caught my eye were these interesting silver, grey and pink Nike Dunk Hi boots. Purchased from the Australian shoe store Hype 2 years ago this colour scheme is no longer available, and they are obviously much loved as the owner has kept them in great condition.

Blazer for Lunch; London

Spotted in Leon at Spitalfields in East London, these eye-catching Nike Blazer Hi Premium boots in an extremely rare coloring led me to meet their owner Fabian and his friend Ida as they had lunch. Both Swedish Art Directors who now live in London, Fabian and Ida have both coincidentally worked for Nike, but Fabian purchased these shoes in LA and are so rare in this coloring/design that they are only available in limited places around the world (and apparently only in limited stores in LA and Tokyo) so snap them up if you find them.

Lady Aqua; London

These well worn Reebok Freestyle Hi boots caught my eye when traveling through Liverpool St underground station in London. The owner told me that she purchased the shoes from the UK footwear store Office in 2008 in this bright aqua coloring which is an aquired taste, but indicative of the shoe's 80s aerobic/casual roots that combined comfort with style.
I've seen a few retro Reebok shoes kicking about lately and with '80's retro' due to be a big trend next season I foresee some of the classic 80's Reebok styles like the Workout becoming popular again in 2010.

Walking on Air; London

I've always had a soft spot for the Nike Air Max Classic, and these shoes caught my eye on Oxford Street in London. Admittedly, these mid-2009 shoes, which were purchased from London's Niketown are not particularly rare, but I like the simplicity of the coloring.

Uno Duo Tre-ners; London

A double hit - 2 Italian tourists in London on holiday together, spotted on Oxford Street and both were wearing shoes that caught my eye.
The eye catching Nike Dunk Hi Multicoloured boots, which were a recent purchase from Carnaby Street are a bit of an acquired taste, but the white Adidas Originals Beckenbauer Allround are in my opinion a modern classic.

Snappy Shoes; London

Happy to show off his new shoes, the owner of these Adidas Cieno's picked up these shoes for under $30 from some Russian market stall holders in East London this week. The only thing bolder than the shoe's strong coloring was the owner's insistence that he also took a photograph of me.

Cold and Cool; London

Spotted in a cold East London, some classic Adidas ZX800's. Bought from a store in Portobello Road, these shoes have great coloring in a classic style.

Classic Classic Kicks; London

My first sneaker spot! Seen at Oxford Circus in London outside Niketown, these very cool Nike Dunk Hi shoes in a contemporary, but rare coloring were purchased only a couple of weeks ago from one of my favorite sneaker stores; Classic Kicks in New York City. After some hunting they seem to be very hard to find anywhere, so keep your eyes open for these shoes as you can see here how great they look.

Welcome to I Dig Your Sole Man, the world's first ever sneaker based street blog!

The project was started 2009 as an idea to create an online publication a little different to the countless fashion street blogs that seem to all exclusively focus on high end satorial fashion.  To me, these sites can look great, but they can also feel elitist if you don't know the eccentricities of high end fashion so I decided to start something that hadn't been tapped into before, a project that focuses on purely urban style and specifically sneaker culture.

Whether you're a collector or an everyday person, we all own at least one pair of sneakers and without realising it our footwear choices make a huge statement about who we are and the site has become a great way of unearthing fantastic stories about people through their style choices.
