Competition Time Again!

I'm very pleased to announce that it's competition time again, as during June you have the chance to get your hands (and feet) on some fantastic gear from New Balance.

Our great friends at NB are currently celebrating the release of their UK made 'Lake District Pack' with 3 great shoes all commemorating their birthplace of the Flimby Factory, based in the Lake District National Park.  All 3 shoes come with Lake District and Union Jack detailing, and the 3 variations of the classic 576 shoe are;

The Dark Blue Lakes Derwent 576 features premium leather, waxed sailcloth and life vest details.

The Olive Lakes Scafell 576 combines rich leather with a durable backpacking material and hiking inspired laces.

The Tan Lakes ST Bees 576 features leather, replicating water on beach stones with canvas and rope details.
As you can see these are fantastic shoes and we're offering 5 people the chance to get some great prizes.  Up for grabs are;
A pair of shoes for 1x International Winner
A pair of shoes for 1x Australian Winner
Goodie bags for 3x Australian Winners
To enter all you have to do is send an email titled 'UK' with your name, address, preferred shoe style & size to digyoursole@gmail.com.  The closing date is Thursday 30th June and winners will be selected from the hat at random.

Best of luck,

Cool Britannia

As many of you will know, I'm originally from the UK and while I moved overseas a few years ago I'm proud of the place that I still call 'home'.  As I Dig Your Sole Man continues to become an increasingly International project now seems like a great time to celebrate my roots, and also outline some of the fantastic British supporters that the project has.

As a partner of ASOS you have access to one of, if not THE best online fashion store around.
We proudly display their leaderboard banner, click on it for stylish bargains.
The UKs go-to for music and fashion, and guess who's there new street snapper?

These guys love sneakers and love working with I Dig Your Sole Man to offer you great deals.
Scroll down and check out the link on the right hand side of the site.

Another great UK sneaker store that we'll be working with.

If this has given you a taste for some UK flavour that you can be a part of then make sure that you're here tomorrow for your chance to win some fantastic Limited Edition UK styled kicks!

Volley Vids

Following on from our recent hugely successful Volleys comp (and stick around for a new great comp starting in June), the Volley team are continuing their promotion of the classic Aussie sneaker with a series of online vids.

There are 3 vids to check outline, all made by Melbourne based Directors who have devised stories about the shoe that are partly funny, stylised and inventive - check them out here.

Winding Down; Sydney

I started the week with some shots of Sydney as it wakes in the morning, so I thought it would be fitting to end the week with some night-time shots showing some colour from around the city.
Whatever you're up to this weekend - have a good one.

Shadow; Sydney

The name of the guy in the above pics is 'Shadow', but rather than stand in the darkness he is a loud and proud sneaker fan who likes to step out with his love for colourful retro sneakers.
With a collection of 10 shoes split between Nike and Adidas his fave shoes that he wears the most are the above Adidas TRX's, a loud shoe that makes a solid nod to retro styling as it's a 2009 re-release of a classic 1976 running shoe.
Unfortunately he can't wear sneakers to work for his office job so the best part of each day is going to and leaving work, which is when he can slip into his beloved Adidas' classic styling and colourful design that he feels is an extension of who he really is.

Bursting Out; Sydney

It's not everyday you see a 50's pastiche mixed with a contemporary twist, and I thought this look used Vans sneakers in a pretty interesting way as the bold colours and confident styling stand on top of some very humble and modest shoes.
There's no doubt that Vans are an incredibly popular brand in Australia, and the feedback that I get suggests that a low price point, combined with a really versatile product is the secret behind the brands success, as was the case here and love it or hate it, I think it's another example of an interesting use of sneakers.

Wake Up; Sydney

This guy is so busy he multi-tasks by running his Blackberry and iPod at the same time.

After the recent foray through the street's of Singapore it's back to Sydney.  I thought it would be nice to reacclimatise by showcasing the sights I see each morning as I navigate my way through the hoards of commuters as they start their day in their own way, and prepare for the onslaught of work ahead.
For a photographer, this means you see some interesting things relating to people's style, and how people look, dress, act and behave as the streets come alive each day.

Meanwhile...In Sydney

Thanks for all the great feedback on the Singapore season, but right now it's time for the most aptly named post I have ever written; 'Meanwhile...In Sydney'.
Meanwhile is a great new menswear store in Elizabeth Bay/Potts Point, and I was lucky enough to be there last night for their launch party.
Obviously footwear is important to a good look, but that doesn't mean that you should neglect the rest of your look and Meanwhile is packed with some great contemporary brands including  Edwin, Vanishing Elephant, Three Over One, Rag and Bone, Rittenhouse, Whyred and Carhaart (basically all of my favourite labels - yes, I was in clothing heaven!).
Last night brought out the stores beautiful clothes for a great crowd so here are my pics from the night for you to enjoy over the weekend.

Have a good one, see you on Monday.
