I bumped into Jack and his new store 'Above The Clouds' while strolling through Darlinghurst in Sydney one weekend.
The store specialises in US streetwear and alongside some interesting apparel lines are the new shoe brand Gourmet.  Offering a unique style of footwear that fuses iconic sneaker elements with smart/casual shoe design, the LA brand are producing some interesting products that are designed to appeal as shoes for sneaker lovers.

Father & Son All Stars; Sydney

It's always nice to see sneaker appreciation being taught to the younger generations so it was great to see this Father & Son combo showcasing their joint appreciation of All Stars.

Their sneaker of choice is the trademark Converse All Star which was displayed in states of 2 extremes.

While the pristine white All Stars Velcro's looked like they were getting one of their first wearings, the camouflage High Tops were having their last wearing, yes, they don't fit anymore and this was their last outing before being consigned to the great sneaker scrapyard in the sky (or as it's known in less poetic terms...the bin) before being replaced by a new pair.

Our good friends at adidas are in the process of staging the ultimate challenge with the ultimate prize at stake;  A trip to LA to see Katy Perry in concert, David Beckham’s LA Galaxy, $10,000 spending money and a VIP shopping experience.  It's all part of the epic adidas ALL IN campaign which you can be a part of, but you will need to act quick as entries need to be in tomorrow.

This Black/Metallic Silver Nike Big Nike High is a 2010 shoe that didn't get much exposure and it seems that even owners of this sleek High Top go to great lengths to keep the kick away from prying eyes.

Anders (who is coincidentally my cousin-in-law) splits his kicks between 2 categories; sneakers for skating (usually Globe or Element shoes) and other sneakers.

As he skates to work each day these shoes are saved the demanding and potentially sole-destroying task of his daily commute and are generally saved for weekend wear, or in this case, a family visit to the rural surroundings of Western Victoria.
