2013 Round Up; April

My highlights from April saw some old favourites joined by some welcome newbies.
My stills of Futura featured in March, but in April I was able to reveal a short video I also Directed about the great man - a film that went on to achieve huge interest online which was fantastic!
Next, Sydney Fashion Week came to town, and IDYSM good mates Vanishing Elephant took centre stage and I was lucky enough to to shoot on the catwalk, but of equal interest to me was outside as classy threads met classy kicks by the fashion conscious crowd,
Finally, my 'In Their Shoes' interview series gathered momentum as Frank Liew, the brains behind Silly Thing shared his sneaker story.  The interview series is something you will see more of in 2014, as we hear from more fascinating (hopefully) sneaker peeps from around the world.

2013 Round Up; March

March saw IDYSM clock up the airmiles again with more content from Melbourne, the UK and Sydney.
Melbourne was a real highlight as I was invited by Hennessy to shoot street legend Futura when he was in town.
More colourful kicks from Sydney, the debut of my exclusive 'Roadtest' video product review series and UK fashion icon Sam Lambert all also featured.  Phew - that's a busy month!

Showreel

So the past few years have been pretty busy for me - and from small acorns I Dig Your Sole Man has not only become an increasingly bigger part of my life, but it's also opened up numerous other doors for me too.
To take stock of what I've done on the site and beyond,I was asked to create a showreel, and I thought it would be something worth sharing on here so enjoy - and come back tomorrow for a cracking new instalment in my 'In Their Shoes' interview series with Eugene Kan from Hypebeast.

Recap; Hypebeast x Futura

Another vid to revisit today, this time the Hennessey x Futura vid I made in Melbourne earlier this year after spending the day with the legend that is Futura.
There's not much I can say about the guy either than he was one of the nicest, humblest people I've met, and when you think of what a pioneer he is that's a pretty cool achievement.
This vid got a lot of love, so thanks to the likes of Hypebeast, Monster Children, and Freshness, and all the other sites that ran it as shooting this was a busy day and I definitely needed a drink at the end of it.

Hennessy vs Limited Edition by Futura; Melbourne

I was recently lucky enough to be invited to spend time with Futura recently as part of his limited edition Hennessy collab which hit Melbourne in some style.
The iconic artist has teamed up with the world's largest cognac company and has been given the chance to design his own limited edition bottles, and as pieces of art in their own right each is a true collector's item.

The legend of the art world, and indeed sneaker world after his amazing collab with Nike SB was kind enough to sit down and talk exclusively to me about his excitement about the collab, and his ongoing love for Melbourne in this video Produced, Directed and Edited by myself.

Futura; Melbourne

Last week I was lucky enough to be invited to Melbourne to spend some time with an iconic figure.
A man whose unique art has captivated streets around the world for decades, and a man whose artistic flair has also seen him conquer the sneaker and streetwear worlds too.  Of course, it's the one and only Futura.
In Melbourne as part of the Hennessy x Futura Limited Edition collab that has seen the world leading cognac company partner with this graffiti figurehead, Futura was in town to celebrate the release of his personally designed limited edition bottle with street art walks, signings and a party.
I'm in the process of putting together a video about the day, but in the meantime here are some stills of the great man who was rocking classic All Stars through his trip, a shoe picked up in Moscow during a recent visit.  His last visit there was in 1984 and the shoe reminds him of the trip and the place so was a sentimental reminder of yesteryear for an artist who has always been known for looking to the Future.
