Takeo; Sydney

From Japan, Takeo is a stylish character who I met recently when he came to Sydney for a project I Directed/shot for him and his company.
Straight away Takeo and his kicks stood out, and as I got to know a few things about him during the trip I was delighted he was happy to pose for IDYSM and showcase his great look.
His look showcases some current chic trends from Japan, including the multi-coloured zip detail which is apparently big up there right now, and throughout his look premium touches are evident.
His Coach bag is a nice touch, and this taste for premium quality is echoed in his footwear too.
His Midnight Turqouise Liberty x Nike Air Force 1's from the Downtown Pack offer colour and style in equal measure, just like Takeo himself.

All Stars on Tour; London

Sometimes when language barriers stand in the way of a good old fashioned conversation I have to rely on the universal language of footwear appreciation to tap into my subject's stories.
This was just what happened when I met Keizo and Yuki in London's Covent Garden.  They didn't speak English, and I don't speak Japanese, so a mixture of passing a pen and paper between us, talking slowly/loudly, pointing, and mime was used to unearth their story.
Using the above tools I found out that they are from Tokyo and visiting London on holiday, and they each decided to each pack a shoe that works for all occasions; the classic All Star.
Like many couples they have a shared style, each opting for black pea coats, dark denim and Cons, a simple, yet clean and non-offensive look that works as well for the streets of London as it does for Tokyo.

Moyu Moshes; London

So, this is my first London find; Moyu.
Moyu was visiting the UK from her home in Tokyo, and decided to light up the streets of London with a great pair of kicks from her extensive collection of Vans.
She has a lot of Vans, and likes this specific pair as they are great fun.  They were certainly designed to be fun as they're a Limited Edition Old Skool release from 2009 that saw Vans team up with the Japanese music festival 'Summer Sonic' and I imagine had the festival scene moshing (hence the post title!).
And if you like the look of this shoe, check out the fantastic Spring 2012 Vans Syndicate Anthony Van Engelen and Jason Dill ‘S’ Pack that will be dropping soon.  It offers 3 hot shoes (including another animal print Old Skool) that will be highly sought after by the skaters and the shoe lovers alike (see more here).
